Surrounded by the shifting light and reflections of Lake Nemi, we invite guests and community members to embrace stillness, nurture their wellbeing, and cultivate meaningful connections. Whether through mindful practices, creative workshops, time spent in nature, or simply resting in the beauty of the landscape, we aim to offer clarity, renewal, and a gentle path back to oneself.

The Meaning of Luce sul Lago

Luce sul Lago means “Light on the Lake” — a name that reflects the association’s spirit of illumination, serenity, and deep connection with nature.

It evokes the image of sunlight shimmering on the waters of Lake Nemi, visible from the land that hosts the project. The reflections on the lake shift and transform throughout the day and night, offering ever-changing moods and colors that inspire wonder, calm, and contemplation. This constant movement of light mirrors the inner journeys we hope to support: subtle, personal, and ever evolving.

What We Mean by “Association”

Luce sul Lago is an officially registered non-profit association.

This means that:

• The association has been formally established through an atto costitutivo and statuto, drafted and notarized by a recognized notaio

• A fiscal code has been issued by the Agenzia delle Entrate

• Yearly declarations are prepared and submitted with the support of a certified accountant

Beyond the legal structure, being an association reflects a deeper choice.

A Non-Profit, Self-Sufficient Model

As a non-profit association:

• There is no profit distribution

• No dividends are paid

• All revenues remain entirely within the association

• Income is used exclusively to cover expenses and support the mission

At present, there is no paid staff within the association.
This means that 100% of the revenues generated are reinvested into:

• Maintaining and caring for the land and facilities

• Covering food, accommodation, and operational costs

• Supporting community and volunteering activities

• Developing long-term ecological, cultural, and social projects

Financial Sustainability Aligned with Our Values

At Luce sul Lago, we believe that associations should not rely solely on donations, but instead strive for financial self-sufficiency through meaningful, value-aligned activities.

The association is financed through:

• 🌿 Glamping retreat experiences for guests who are able to contribute financially

• 🫒 Organic olive oil production, rooted in the land we care for

These revenue streams allow the association to operate independently while making the project accessible to people with limited resources through the community and volunteering program.

In this way, Luce sul Lago functions as a shared ecosystem:
those who can afford to pay help sustain the place, the land, and the possibility for others to join.
